Hello Moment

And in the blink of a moment,
did the world change into a precious place.

It was brought about by a strain of music,
the touch of a hand, the meeting of souls.
There's much to be said by a touch of palms.
Shakespeare had it closer than credit given.

In a world where touch is cheap and little moments are so very hard to find,
In this world did I find my moment.
They say it always surprises you, but that doesn't really cover it.
Surprise yes, but the most amazing comfort.

That feeling of coming home,
of meeting an old friend.
“Hello old friend, and may I say:
Where have you been all my life?”

A sappy, sentimental moment,
But who cares?
It's mine.

He took my hand a led me out into a dance.
A swing step, Mess About,
A silly little thing. But there we were ,
And I was no longer alone.

“Hello old friend, dear heart.
I'm so glad to finally meet you face to face.
Might I keep you here forever?”

I'm in that moment eternally now.
Hoping against every hope
It never fades.
